<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a battery level necessary to arrive at a destination, and inform a remote user about the amount of time needed to charge the battery up to the level and/or the charging state of the battery. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device 2 is mounted in a vehicle including a battery for driving. A controller 20 acquires information on the battery level from the vehicle. A storage unit 21 has stored therein contact addresses such as mail addresses that can be checked by the user from a portable terminal. The controller 20 retrieves a recommended route from the departure place to the destination, and calculates the battery level required to travel to the destination along the recommended route. The controller 20 creates information on the charging state of the battery, e.g. a progress state informing mail, based on the necessary battery level and the remaining level of the battery.
