<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red colored composition for a color filter capable of manufacturing a color filter with excellent dispersibility, good flowability, high contrast ratio and enhanced brightness, and to provide a color filter using the red colored composition. <P>SOLUTION: The red colored composition for a color filter is a coloring composition containing a pigment including a diketopyrrolopyrrole red pigment (A), a dye derivative (B), a resin (C), and a solvent (D). The dye derivative (B) contains a quinophthalone dye derivative [B1] represented by general formula (1) and a thiazine indigo dye derivative [B2] represented by general formula (4).
