<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in recording material discrimination by increasing an irradiation light amount without enlarging a device, concerning a recording material discrimination device configured to obliquely radiating light via a translucent member to a recording material placed on the translucent member. <P>SOLUTION: A cover member C1 includes light reception surfaces C14 to which light from large light amount LEDs 51 are vertically made incident, thereby to allow the light from the large light amount LEDs 51 to be radiated at predetermined angles to a recording material P placed on the cover member C1 after transmitting through the cover member C1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
