<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator having a simple structure and generating large thrust force even at small torque. <P>SOLUTION: A linear actuator converts rotating motion of a motor to linear motion of a screw which is an output shaft. The linear actuator includes a retainer holding a plurality of balls along an inner periphery of a hollow rotor of the motor, and a ball screw is formed on the outer periphery of the screw. The balls are engaged with the ball screw, and the screw is arranged coaxially with the rotor. Rotation of the balls along the inner peripheral face of the rotor along with the rotating motion of the rotor causes the linear motion of the screw having the ball screw. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
