摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide highly functional graphite carbon nanofibers obtained from a woody raw material and having high stability in size, shape, structure and purity, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: Graphite nano-carbon fibers are obtained by using an apparatus including: a reaction container 21, the inside of which can be maintained in a reducing atmosphere, and into which thermal decomposition gas obtained by thermal decomposition of a woody raw material in a reducing atmosphere is introduced; a metal substrate as a catalyst disposed in the reaction container; a heater 26 for heating the metal substrate; hydrocarbon supply means for supplying a hydrocarbon into the reaction container; a scraping part 24 for scraping carbon fibers produced by a vapor-phase growth method on the metal substrate; a collection container 27 for collecting the scraped carbon fibers; and exhaust means 28 for exhausting gas in the reaction container.
