PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine stator which has high thermal conduction characteristics enough against an increase in heating value of a conductor and large insulation characteristics enough for the conductor.

SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine stator includes: the conductor formed by bundling a plurality of strands; and an insulation layer which is formed so as to cover an outer peripheral surface of the conductor, and includes a filler layer and a mica layer containing a scale-like hexagonal boron nitride filler having an orientation rate (100)/(002) of 0.04 or larger.
