PURPOSE: A white biaxially oriented polyester film is provided to efficiently manufactured, to maintain excellent electrical property under high temperature and high humidity, and to impart excellent electrical insulation when used for a backside laminate of a solar cell module. CONSTITUTION: A white biaxially oriented polyester film comprises polyester as a main component. A diol component of the polyester consists of 80 mole% or more of 1,4- cyclohexanedimethanol, and a dicarboxylic component of the polyester comprises 80 mol% or more of one or more of benzenedicarboxylic acid and/or one or more of naphthalene dicarboxylic acid.. The dicarboxylic component comprises 55 mol% or more of a dicarboxylic main component selected from 2,6-naphtalene dicarboxylic acid and terephthalic acid, and 18 mol% or more of a dicarboxylic addition component.
