PURPOSE: A solar battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the penetration of moisture and gas by forming a barrier layer including an II-VI group semiconductor compound on a buffer layer, thereby preventing electrical property change. CONSTITUTION: A back surface electrode layer(200) is formed on a supporting substrate(100). A light absorption layer(300) is formed on the back surface electrode layer. A buffer layer(400) including cadmium is formed on the light absorption layer. The thickness of the buffer layer is 30 to 60nm. A barrier layer(500) including an II-VI group semiconductor compound is formed on the buffer layer. The thickness of the barrier layer is 10 to 30nm. The barrier layer is comprised of a first barrier layer and a second barrier layer. A front surface electrode layer(700) is formed on the barrier layer. |
