PURPOSE: A fluorescence amino acid sensor for selectively detecting mercury ion(Hg 2+) is used as a novel fluorescence amino acid sensor and to ensure high selectively at biosample pH range. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescence amino acid sensor for detecting mercury ion is denoted by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R is -NH_2, -OCH_3, or -OCH_2CH_3. The mercury ion is detected in an aqueous solution, organic solution, or a mixture thereof. The organic solution is dimethyl formamide, acetonitrile, or methanol. A method for manufacturing the sensor comprises: a step of reacting resin and methionine wherein an amino terminal is protected by a protection group; a step of the conjugate of the methionine and resin by solid synthesis; a step of reacting the resultant with 5-dimethylamino-1-naphthalene sulfonyl chloride; and a step of reacting the reactant with trifluoacetic acid.
