The device (1) has a vertical axis savonius-type rotor and a lower reinforcement element (5) on which two blades (7) are fixed. The blades are inflatable in form of conduits extending up to the circumference of the device. The blades are inflated until the device reaches a deployed position, and deflated until the device reaches a folded position. The blades are made of plastic material that provides relatively high rigid or indeformable characteristics for the blades, when the blades are inflated, and relatively flexible or deformable characteristics, when the blades are deflated. An independent claim is also included for a method for deploying a wind device.
