Use of p-thymol and its salt or ester derivative as animal feed additive. The p-thymol, with the chemical name of 3-methyl-4-isopropyl phenol, is an isomer of thymol. The salt derivative comprises at least one of salt formed by p-thymol and metal ion, p-thymol ammonium formed by p-thymol and ammonium and resin salt formed by p-thymol and anion resin. The ester derivative comprises the ester formed by thymol and different carboxylic acid. The p-thymol and its salt or ester derivative, compared with thymol and carvacrol, has stronger antibacterial activity, lower volatility, higher safety and lower irritant, and has better palatability and growth developing effect as animal growth-promoting feed additive. |
