Provided is a pressure vessel that, without burdening a worker, enables the opening and closing of a lid and the locking of the lid and a canister to each be performed with a single hand. The pressure vessel is provided with: a canister (34) to which an aperture (35) is formed; a lid (36) that occludes the aperture (35); and a hinge (42) for opening and closing the lid (36). A plurality of claws (46) protruding inwards are provided to the rim of the aperture of the canister (34). The lid (36) is provided with: a main lid body (50) to which a plurality of claws (52) protruding outwards are provided; and a support plate (48) that is joined to the hinge (42) and that supports the main lid body (50) rotatably with the center of the main lid body as the axis line. An operating lever (88) is provided of which one end (88a) is affixed to the main lid body (50), and the other end (88b) is formed as a grasped section that a worker grasps. The operating lever (88) is disposed in parallel to the plane of the aperture (35) of the canister (34), and can be operated by moving the other end (88b) up and down in a manner so that the main lid body (50) rotates with the center of the main lid body as the axis line.
