The invention relates to a composition based on granulated cork, to be applied as a coating or insulation and used for the structure of walls of buildings and housing in general. The invention also relates to the method for producing said composition. According to the method for producing the insulating composition, cork grains of between 1 and 3 mm, amounting to 22% of the total of the mixture (in weight), are placed in a cement mixer, and gypsum (70%) is added, followed by calcium carbonate (1%), powder retardant (4.5%), a water-repellent constituent (1%) and an adhesive constituent (1.5%), the latter constituents having an impalpable particle-size distribution. The mixture is stirred for at least 7 minutes, the dry mixture is obtained, and then 17% water is added. Said mixture corresponds to insulating material inside partitions and/or for attics. In order to construct panels reinforced with ACMA mesh, 22% water should be added (to the weight of the dry mixture), and the dose of gypsum doubled.
|
