The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a liquid crystal panel which is capable of suppressing decrease in transmittance; and a liquid crystal display device. This liquid crystal panel is provided with: a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; and a liquid crystal layer that is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate has a first vertical alignment film. The second substrate has a first electrode, an insulating body on the first electrode, a second electrode on the insulating body, and a second vertical alignment film on the second electrode. The second electrode has a plurality of portions that are arranged with a gap therebetween, and the first electrode overlaps the gap when viewed in plan. The liquid crystal layer contains a liquid crystal compound and a chiral agent, and the liquid crystal compound has positive dielectric anisotropy. The chiral pitch length of the liquid crystal compound is larger than the clearance of the gap of the second electrode.
