A piezoelectric element, which can be driven at a relatively low voltage, allows a large amount of displacement in the center area, and does not undergo deterioration of characteristics over time, is configured so as to be easy to mount on a piezoelectric device. This piezoelectric element (100) is provided with a piezoelectric body (1) formed by laminating a plurality of piezoelectric body layers (1a to 1j), ground electrodes (21), center electrodes (24), and peripheral electrodes (25). The piezoelectric element (100) can be used by forming a first terminal (11) to a fifth terminal (15) on the surface of the piezoelectric body (1), and devising a means of drawing out the ground electrodes (21), the center electrodes (24), and the peripheral electrodes (25) to the first terminal (11) to the fifth terminal (15), and by connecting one of the terminals of an alternating current power source to the third terminal (13), and the other terminal to the first terminal (11) and the second terminal (12).
