The container (1) has a specific installation (5) to receive mechanical spare parts, and a side wall (13) and another sidewall mounted on a base (3) of the container, so that folding of the side walls on the base modifies a volume provided by the container from a deployed position to a folded position and vice versa. A folding framework is configured for being erected from the base, where the framework is formed by articulated posts (9). The side walls and the installation are fixed on the framework in a reversible and independent manner in order to place the container in a deployed position. An independent claim is also included for a method for folding a container.
