This invention relates to a method of assigning vehicles in a fleet. A call is received by the central dispatcher, which is broadcast to all vehicles in the fleet. Each vehicle has a computer which calculates the time to reach the patron from the vehicle's current location. If the vehicle is available to respond to the call for service, it will respond to the dispatch in order of time to location. The dispatcher will then assign the vehicle closest to the patron. |
