The closure (1) comprises a base portion (3) and a sealing element (5) which is sealingly provided at the opening of the syringe or carpule when the closure is set in closing position. The closure is formed as a single-piece component. A closure cap is provided for closing a distal end of channel which is formed along the base portion and sealing element. The base portion is made of thermoplastic polymer such as polypropylene. The sealing element is made of thermoplastic elastomer. An independent claim is included for manufacturing method of closure.
