<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface inspection device for performing uniform inspection over a full width in a width direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction with a simple and inexpensive device configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The surface inspection device includes two linear diffusion illumination devices 2 and 3 that radiate light beams, which are linearly in parallel to a direction perpendicular to the conveyance direction, to a long pickled steel sheet 1 conveyed in a longitudinal direction so that the illumination light beams overlap each other in the full width on the surface of the pickled steel sheet in the conveyance direction; one or more area sensor cameras 4 for imaging an overlapping area E<SB POS="POST">L</SB>of the illumination light beams on the surface of the pickled steel sheet 1; and camera moving means 5 for reciprocally moving the area sensor camera 4 so as to cover the full width of the pickled steel sheet 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
