The gas generator (10) has a combustion chamber (14), in which a gas-generating fuel (18) is accommodated. A pre-ignition agent (20) is provided, which has a lower ignition temperature than the fuel. The pre-ignition agent is ignited by a predefined heat effect acting from outside. The weakening zone (22) is destructed by partial combustion of the pre-ignition agent. The pre-ignition agent consists of a material based on nitrocellulose or chlorates or nitrotriazolone. An independent claim is also included for a module with a fastening unit.
