<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device which has a smaller emission area and improves a light-emitting density. <P>SOLUTION: A light-emitting device comprises a semiconductor light-emitting element 11 mounted on a substrate 10, a phosphor containing layer 13 arranged on the semiconductor light-emitting element 11 and a plate-like optical layer 14 mounted on the phosphor containing layer 13. The plate-like optical layer 14 is smaller than a top face of the semiconductor light-emitting element 11 and each of lateral faces of the phosphor containing layer 13 has an inclined surface 130 extending from an edge of the semiconductor light-emitting element 11 toward an edge of the plate-like optical layer. The inclined surface 130 is a curved surface protruded outward and lateral faces of the inclined surface 130 and the plate-like optical layer 14 are covered with a light reflective material. Accordingly, at edges of the phosphor containing layer 13, light can be condensed to the plate-like optical layer by scattering and reflecting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
