PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feature amount generation device capable of solving the problem in which it takes a long time to generate feature amounts.

SOLUTION: A block acquisition unit 34 executes acquisition processing for sequentially acquiring video blocks from video data. A retrieval-use data generation unit 35 sequentially generates feature amounts of the video data from the video blocks. A CPU 36 adjusts the acquisition rate of the video blocks in the block acquisition unit 34 according to the number of the feature amounts generated by the retrieval-use data generation unit 35.
