<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible cable connector which has a small number of components while having shielding performance, and which has a reduced arrangement space including a space for engagement release operation. <P>SOLUTION: A flexible flat cable (FFC) connector 1 comprises: a housing 11 provided with a receiving recess 111; and a shield shell 13. The FFC connector 1 connects to an FFC 2 having an end section 2A with a plurality of conductors 21 aligned therein and notches 25 formed on both side edges 24. The shield shell 13 comprises: a pair of engagement arms 132 which engage with respective notches 25 disposed on the both side edges 24 to prevent disconnection of the end section 2A; a shield section 133 which surrounds the housing 11; and engagement release arms 134 which extend from the shield section 133. The engagement release arms 134 protrudes toward a front side F at a position with the end section 2A being sandwiched therebetween, on a front face 11a where the receiving recess 111 of the housing 11 faces. The engagement release arms 134 move by a pinching operation to bring themselves closer to each other so that they release the engagement of the engagement arms 132 from the respective notches 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
