<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a period in which a dummy scanning line is selected. <P>SOLUTION: A scanning line driving circuit 200 outputs scanning signals G1 to G4 to scanning lines of 1st to 4th rows. These scanning signals have the same signal waveform. The scanning line driving circuit 200 also outputs scanning signals G605 to G608 having the same signal waveform to scanning lines of 605th to 608th rows. Accordingly, the scanning lines of the 1st to 4th rows are selected in the same horizontal scanning period, and the scanning lines of the 605th to 608th rows are selected in the same horizontal scanning period.
