<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device for creating a label with visibility enhanced by enhancement processing. <P>SOLUTION: A printing device 1 includes character size storage means, maximum character size storage means, tape width determination means, printing possible area setting means, input means, input character size setting means, display means, range specification means for specifying an enhanced character string, enhancement start means for starting enhancement processing, and size determination means for determining whether a character size of the character string is the maximum character size. The printing device 1 also includes character size changing means for, when the size determination means determines that the enhanced character string enhanced by executing the enhancement start means does not have the maximum character size, enhancing a character size of the character string specified by the range specification means by one stage.
