SEAL TIP PROTECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal tip protection device capable of protecting the tip of an elastic seal member while dealing with oscillation of a tunnel during propulsion.

SOLUTION: A seal tip protection device G which is installed on a succeeding tunnel 10a to be constructed adjacent to a preceding tunnel 10b by a propulsion method comprises: a scraper member 50 which is installed in front of the tip of a seal member 30 attached to the outer surface of the succeeding tunnel 10a; and pressing means which presses the scraper member 50 to the preceding tunnel 10b. The pressing means comprises: a bag body 71 which expands or contracts between the outer surface of the succeeding tunnel 10a and the scraper member 50; and a fluid pressure holding device 72 which holds the fluid pressure in the bag body 71. The scraper member 50 follows and is pressed on the outer surface of the preceding tunnel 10b by the expansion or contraction of the bag body 71.
