<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo microscope capable of uniform illumination of a sample with efficiency even when being used by switching a multiple number of object lenses of different magnifications. <P>SOLUTION: The stereo microscope includes: an object lens 23; a pair of zoom lenses (variable power optical systems) 24a, 24b; a pair of imaging lenses 25a, 25b forming left and right images 28a, 28b; and an illumination device for illuminating a sample 21. In this case, the illumination device includes a flux dispersion member 17 having a periodic structure in a one-dimensional direction for illuminating the sample 21 by dispersing the illumination flux from a light source for illumination in a direction parallel to a plane including the optical axes of the zoom lenses 24a, 24b and the following conditional expressions are satisfied. d/ä2(f<SB POS="POST">low</SB>)}≤(n-1)*δ<SB POS="POST">ave</SB>≤d/ä2(f<SB POS="POST">high</SB>)} when d: the distance between the optical axes of the zoom lenses 24a, 24b, f<SB POS="POST">low</SB>, f<SB POS="POST">high</SB>: the focal distance of object lens 23 at minimum magnification, maximum magnification, δ<SB POS="POST">ave</SB>: average value of an angle of incidence δ to respective structures of the flux dispersion member 17 and n: index of refraction for the flux dispersion member 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
