The device (10) has shifting elements (11, 12) e.g. wet multi-disk clutches and brakes, for making a rotational torque-transferring connection in closed state and breaking the rotational torque-transferring connection in open state. A control- and/or regulation unit (13) controls and/or regulates the shifting elements depending on an operation parameter gradient e.g. pressure gradient, of the shifting elements. The control- and/or regulation unit determines the operation parameter gradient from an actual operation parameter i.e. actual operation pressure, of the shifting elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating shifting elements of a motor vehicle drive train device.
