ILLUMINATION SOURCE WITH REDUCED INNER CORE SIZE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination source having high efficiency.

SOLUTION: The illumination source includes an LED assembly for outputting light, and an MR 16 type heat sink that is connected to the LED assembly and including a relatively flat inner core region having a first diameter and an outer core region having a second diameter. The LED assembly is disposed on the inner core region and the first diameter is half smaller than the second diameter.
