<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device with reduced stress applied on components. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge lamp lighting device comprises: a DC/DC converter 3 which converts an inputted power supply voltage Vin into a DC voltage at a desired voltage value; a DC/AC converter 4 which converts an output voltage from the DC/DC converter 3 into an AC voltage at a desired voltage value; and a power control part 5 which controls the outputs from the DC/DC converter 3 and the DC/AC converter 4. The power control part 5 includes a power command circuit 58 which outputs, at each timing when the polarity of the AC output from the DC/AC converter 4 changes, a second power command signal for setting the output from the DC/DC converter 3 to a power value higher than a predetermined steady-state value if a preset first set time has elapsed from a point of time when a supply power to a discharge lamp 11 starts decreasing below a predetermined maximum power at the start of lighting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
