<p>Producing glass tube, comprises providing a tubular semifinished product in the form of a tube length (3.3) with two ends comprising a first end (9.1, 9.2) and a second end, where the first end is optionally open, and pressing the first end with a molding tool (50), preferably a heated molding tool having holes or openings for discharging gas, preferably air blast, such that the first end of the tubular semi-finished product is molded as a base and/or as an end. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a device for producing the glass tube, comprising a conveying device (5) for conveying tubular semifinished products in the form of pipe lengths having at least one first end, in a conveying direction (13) that is perpendicular to the axis of symmetry of the tube length, and at least one molding tool, preferably in the form of a plate with stopper, preferably an L-shaped plate, for forming the first end of the tube length; and (2) the glass tube produced by the above method, where the first end of the tubular semifinished product that is formed as the end or base, is molded such that the end or the molded base exhibits a process capability index of 1.33 for axial, concavity and/or minimum base thickness, and/or the molded base exhibits a geometric tolerance according to ISO 9187.</p> |
