TRANSPARENT OBJECT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica-based film having superior mechanical strength while including a light absorber that is an organic substance.

SOLUTION: The transparent object incudes: a transparent substrate 1; and an organic-inorganic composite film 2 including an organic substance and an inorganic oxide formed on the surface of the transparent substrate. The organic-inorganic composite film includes silica as the inorganic oxide and the organic-inorganic composite film comprises primarily the silica. After a Taber abrasion test specified by JIS R 3212 to be performed to the surface of the organic-inorganic composite film, the organic-inorganic composite film is not peeled from the transparent substrate and at least a part of the organic substance is ultraviolet absorber.
