<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transfer device for a form-fill-seal machine that is capable of reducing poor sealing caused by articles caught in laterally sealed portions of the form-fill-seal machine. <P>SOLUTION: The article transfer device 4 includes a funnel-shaped structure 40 and a high pressure air supply pipe 49. The funnel-shaped structure 40 has an upper end opening 40a adapted to receive articles dropped from above and a lower end opening 40b adapted to drop the articles to a form-fill-seal machine. An inner space S2 is defined between the openings 40a and 40b. The upper part of the inner space S2 has a greater cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the lower part of the inner space S2. A number of air ejection holes 41c are formed in an inner peripheral surface 40c surrounding the inner space S2. The air ejection holes are arranged with respect to one another defining a helical shape pattern. Gaseous material is spouted out from the high pressure air supply pipe 49 and into the inner space S2 through the plurality of air ejection holes 41c. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
