The car (1) has a solar module (2) e.g. solar cell or solar panel, for producing current that is supplied to an on-board network (4) of the car over a voltage converter (3). A control device (5) is connected with the voltage converter for determining a maximum power-point at which maximum power is collected from the solar module. The control device detects and processes maximum power-point related parameters in real-time, and transmits appropriate commands to the voltage converter, so that permanent adaptation of the maximum power-point is carried-out. An independent claim is also included for a method for optimizing a maximum power-point in a motor car.
