<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string instrument that is enabled to satisfactorily add effects to musical sounds during performance by reducing any bend deformation of a base member due to the tension of strings. <P>SOLUTION: A string instrument is provided with a base member 3 on whose front and rear faces strings 4 are stretched and a string tension control member 21 that varies the tensions of strings 4 stretched on the rear side reverse to strings 4 on the front side for use in performance out of the strings 4 stretched over this base member 3; therefore, the strings 4 stretched on both front and rear faces of the base member 3 can mutually cancel bending moments arising from the tensions of the strings 4 and working on the base member 3 thereby to reduce any bend deformation of the base member 3 due to the tensions of the strings 4 and, at the same time, by manipulating the string tension control member 21 during performance to vary the pitches of musical sounds, effects can be satisfactorily added to the musical sounds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
