<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power control unit and a power control method that perform power-saving control corresponding to driving by electronic equipment by carrying out suitable operation control that the electronic equipment originally requires for the driving according to a state of a load that the electronic equipment drives. <P>SOLUTION: The power control unit which controls power consumption of the electronic equipment includes a power consumption acquisition part which acquires the power consumption of the electronic equipment; a moving average calculation part which calculates a moving average of the power consumption of the electronic equipment based upon the power consumption acquired by the power consumption acquisition part; a load state determination part which determines a state of the load driven by the electronic equipment based upon the moving average calculated by the moving average calculation part; and a control part which controls whether the electronic equipment is made to operate in a restriction mode in which an upper limit corresponding to the state of the load determined by the load state determination part is set or in a restriction removal mode in which the upper limit is not set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
