<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device that gives a comfortable steering feeling in returning a steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: When steering torque is larger than a predetermined value 1 and steering angular velocity is smaller than a predetermined value 2 (a substantially zero value), it is determined that a steering wheel is kept.
