PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension retaining means that can constantly retain the tension of a wound transmission member used for a drive force transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotary drive force of a crankshaft to a valve gear of an intake and exhaust valve, at predetermined tension, in an internal combustion engine with a variable compression mechanism.
SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine with a variable compression mechanism includes: a drive sprocket coupled to the crankshaft; and a relay sprocket spaced apart from the drive sprocket and configured to transmit the rotary drive force from the drive sprocket to the valve gear for opening and closing the intake and exhaust valve. The tension retaining means includes a link mechanism including: a first link member for constantly maintaining a space between the rotation center of the drive sprocket and the rotation center of the relay sprocket at a predetermined distance; and a second link member for connecting a cylinder block with the relay sprocket and constantly maintaining a space between a mounting part of the second link member in the cylinder block and the rotation center of the relay sprocket at a predetermined distance.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
