<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more precisely open and close a relief valve, in an exhaust-gas muffler interposed between an upstream exhaust-gas chamber and a downstream exhaust-gas chamber and configured such that the relief valve is opened when pressure of the upstream exhaust-gas chamber reaches a predetermined value or more, the relief valve including: a shutter member arranged oppositely to the open end of a gas passage to the downstream exhaust-gas chamber, the gas passage extending between the upstream exhaust-gas chamber on an upstream side and the downstream exhaust-gas chamber on a downstream side along an exhaust gas flowing direction, of a plurality of exhaust-gas chambers formed in a casing in order to allow exhaust gas to flow sequentially; a spring biasing the shutter member to a side for closing the gas passage; and a seal member abutting on the whole periphery of the opening end of the gas passage to the downstream exhaust-gas chamber and fixed to the shutter member. <P>SOLUTION: The seal member 72 made of a metal mesh material is formed into a disk shape to cover the outlet of the gas passage 67. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
