<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum washing machine improved in washing performance. <P>SOLUTION: The drum washing machine is configured to at least carry out a washing process. The washing process includes: a first low-speed rotation step in which a drum rotates at such a speed that laundry does not stick on an inner circumference wall of a washing tub 3; and a high-speed rotation step in which the drum rotates at such a speed that laundry sticks on the inner circumference wall of the washing tub 3. The first low-speed rotation step is carried out for a time according to the laundry volume detected by a cloth volume detecting unit 18 before the high-speed rotation step. Thus, by carrying out the low-speed rotation step for a time according to the laundry volume detected by the cloth volume detecting means 18 after water feeding, laundry is put into the state of being wet with washing water in which a detergent is sufficiently mixed, and a surfactant of the detergent is adsorbed to dirt of laundry. Then, by rotating the drum 3 at a high speed, it is possible to remove the washing water which is in the vicinity of laundry and in which the detergent is mixed and to peel the dirt attached to the detergent, and thus washing performance is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
