The element (1) has a ceramic covering layer (2) with openings (8) formed as light guidance channels. A plastic carrier layer (3) projects into the openings of the ceramic layer. The plastic carrier layer and the ceramic layer are connected by a bonding agent, where the plastic carrier layer is made of translucent material. A light source e.g. LED and organic LED, is arranged beneath the plastic carrier layer. A light conductor is arranged between the light source and the plastic carrier layer. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a control element.
