<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote temperature rise of a secondary battery while warming-up the exhaust gas purification catalyst in an early stage. <P>SOLUTION: When battery temperature Tb is less than the determination temperature Tbref, abnormality is not found in the system, the system is in an authorized state where the system can execute the ripple temperature rise control, and the engine is in one operating condition out of the operation stop condition, a self-sustaining condition or a catalyst warming-up operation condition (S110-S130), the execution of the ripple temperature rise control is permitted by confirming that the engine request power Pe * is less than the prescribed engine power Peref (step S150). When the execution of the ripple temperature rise control is permitted, the ripple current is superimposed to the electrical charge and discharge current of the battery, by reducing the switching frequency of the switching element of the boost converter more than normal.
