<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly move a read part. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader includes: a medium mounting part for mounting a read medium; a read part disposed freely movably to the medium mounting part, for reading the image of the read medium; and a sheet member disposed adjacently to the medium mounting part. The read part or the sheet member includes an inclined part which is formed to be inclined to the moving direction of the read part. Since the sheet member is disposed adjacently to the medium mounting part and the inclined part is formed to be inclined to the moving direction of the read part on one of the read part and the sheet member, even when the read medium is pressed to a transmission plate of the medium mounting part, the transmission plate is curved and the read part and the sheet member are brought into contact, the read part can be smoothly moved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
