<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fountain pen type ballpoint pen that fully exhibits inherent resiliency of a fountain pen without causing an increase in a number of parts, the complexity of parts processing or the increase in a number of assembling processes. <P>SOLUTION: A pen point member 7 formed of a flexible metal plate having at its tip end a ball 8 held rotatably is attached at the front end of a shaft cylinder 1. The pen point member 7 forms a cylindrical section 7a by fabricating the tip end of the metal plate into a round cylindrical body shape centering on its axis, and, in this cylindrical section 7a, a ball house 7c is formed in an opening by forming the opening 7b opening in a direction perpendicular to the shaft axis. The ball house 7c provides a ball receiving seat with two or more inner projections 7d formed toward the shaft axis center from the peripheral wall, and by pushing inside an inner peripheral edge of the opening 7b, a ball holding section is provided.
