<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, configured to suppress an amount of ink to be used, and perform adjustment so that the glossiness of an input image may be uniform. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device 100 for forming an image by ejecting liquid droplets to a recording medium 3 based on input image data, includes: a glossiness detector 26 for detecting the glossiness of the recording medium; a storage for a glossiness estimation table 305 wherein the glossiness of the recording medium or easy permeability information about liquid droplets for each type of the recording medium is associated with the predicted glossiness; a glossiness acquisition section 302 for acquiring the easy permeability information by regarding the ejection time interval of the liquid droplets in a predetermined area of the input image data as at least one factor, then, acquiring the predicted glossiness in the area corresponding to the easy permeability information from the glossiness estimation table; and a glossiness correcting section 304 for adjusting the easy permeability of the liquid droplets upon printing so that the glossiness in the area may come close to the predetermined target glossiness in accordance with a comparison result between the glossiness of the recording medium and the predicted glossiness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
