<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus, along with a method of controlling the same, which can correctly control a cutting position in relation to a recorded image, even when a web conveying position is deviated in a width direction, regarding an image recording apparatus used for web with a cutter device. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus includes: an image recording unit which performs image recording to a recording medium; a paper sheet edge detector for detecting a conveying position of a recording medium; and a cutter unit which cuts a recording medium at a predetermined cutting position. In the image recording apparatus, a deviation amount between a center position in a width direction, of a recording medium, and a center position in a width direction, of a conveyance path, is measured based on the detection result by the paper sheet edge detector, and an interval between a starting timing of image recording and a cutting timing of a recording medium, is adjusted so that the recording medium is correctly cut at a predetermined cutting position in relation to an image-recorded position, according to the deviation amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
