摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform start operation from a stand-by state to an operation state in response to connection of a cable. <P>SOLUTION: A charging system 1 supplies charging power from a charging stand 2 to an on-vehicle machine 3 through an electric power line 6. The charging stand 2 and the on-vehicle machine 3 have communication circuits 22, 32, respectively, as electric power line communication apparatuses communicating through the electric power line 6. The on-vehicle machine 3 has a detection circuit 38 for detecting the impedance of the electric power line 6. Further, the on-vehicle machine 3 has a control device 39 for switching between a stand-by state and an operation state of the communication circuit 32 based on the impedance detected by the detection circuit 38. For example, the control device 39 detects that a cable 7 is connected by a change in impedance of the electric power line 6.
