<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having structure that is able to realize both shortening of a current path so as to improve the output characteristics, and securing of a gas exhausting route under the abnormal situation. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, an electrode winding group is housed in a battery container, and both ends of a battery body of the battery container having a cylindrical rectangular shape with rounded corners are sealed by container lids with cleavage valves. The electrode winding group is made of a plate-like winding core around which band-shaped positive electrodes and negative electrodes are wound thorough a separator. At both ends of the winding core, current collectors in a rectangular form with rounded corners are arranged in a flange shape. One of the current collectors is connected to the positive electrodes through a positive electrode tab and the other current collector is connected to the negative electrodes through a negative electrode tab, with an opening through which gas flows being formed in each of the current collectors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
