<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval suggestion device and a method which automatically suggest a retrieval query capable of providing retrieval results with a high aspect of entertainment that avoid similarity of retrieval results and successively develop new topics. <P>SOLUTION: A retrieval suggestion device (1) comprises: a co-occurrence rate calculation means (112) for, for respective combinations of retrieval queries and re-retrieval queries extracted from a retrieval log database (21), calculating co-occurrence rates of the retrieval queries and the re-retrieval queries in Web pages; a high co-occurrence rate pair excluding means (113) for excluding a combination of which the calculated co-occurrence rate is equal to or more than a threshold; a score calculation means (114) for calculating scores for each of combinations other than the excluded combinations by giving a higher score when the combination has a higher frequency of retrieval and a lower co-occurrence rate; and a suggestion transmission means (123) for, on receiving a retrieval query from a user terminal, extracting a suggestion query by preferentially selecting a re-retrieval query which has a high score in association with the received retrieval query to transmit the suggestion query to the user terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
