<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which is easily found when buried in snow, and to provide a control method of the portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A portable terminal 100 according to an embodiment of this invention has a housing 51, heat generating mechanism parts 191 and 192, a posture information obtaining part 8, and a control part 1. The heat generating mechanism parts 191 and 192 are respectively provided at different positions. The posture information obtaining part 8 obtains posture information of the housing 51.
